Overview

Squires have passed their trials and now are full members of the chapter. Their tasks include learning how to maintain their weapons & armour, while also assisting their assigned Knight or Paladin. They are expected to be able to deal with small threats, but aren't full soldiers of the Brotherhood. They are one step above initiates found in the wasteland, but aren't

Duties

  • Secure Dangerous Technology: Engage with various factions, settlements, and individuals to secure technology that could prove damaging to the world.
  • Secure Diplomacy: Use your firepower and talking skills to produce good relationships with the other factions.
  • Fight For Your Unit: You are a footsoldier made to fight. Follow your paladin's orders and try your best to fight for the Brotherhood.
  • Expand Influence: Build strong relationships across the Wasteland to grow the BoS's network. Reputation is valuable, and friendships can be usefull.
  • Follow Command's Orders: Above all else the you're a squire relying on your superiors, learn from them and the codex.

Tips for Squires

There are many resources already in the base; but you will probably have to explore looking for more to make a functioning scout team.

Once you have an idea about your possibilities, objects and missions, it's time to get to work;

  • Remeber the codex and be practical, your superiors can be relied upon.
  • Don't start fights with factions. It is not your jobs to declare war, your commander will do it with elder (admin) permission if needed.
  • You're not a commandering officer; your job is to learn how to be a part of the Brotherhood.

Faction Relationships

New California Republic: Neutral; They often come to compromises with eachother to avoid uneeded war, and are usually diplomatic.

Washington Brotherhood of Steel Hostile; The Washington BoS is a breakoff chapter from the Midwest and are radically dangerous.

Vault Fourteen: Neutral; they often have information and tech needed for the Brotherhood's mission and it's your choice how to approach.

Raiders & Tribals: Hostile; raiders and tribals are often viewed as vermin.

Caravan Company: Neutral; they will trade when needed but do not have a large relationship. The Caravan is closer with the NCR and locals than the BoS.

Oasis: Neutral; unless they have something they need, the BoS rarely will interact with them and

Tips for Success

  • Stay Connected: Use your radios and headsets to your advantage.
  • Watch Out for Scams: Not all wasteland dwellers have the best intentions; be cautious when making trades with unknown parties.
  • Diplomacy: Be in touch almost immediately with the Factions. This can help in the long run.
