Welcome to the Nuclear 14 Rules and Guidance page.

This page has specific rules and guidance for the Singularity Network Fallout Roleplay Server (Nuclear 14). For general guidance on Space Station 14 go here, and for general roleplay etiqutte and guidance go here.

The Server Rules

The most up to date rules can be found here.

The server rules help create an enjoyable atmosphere for all and punish users who interfere with the enjoyment of other players or adversely affect the community and server. Laws and Guidance exist in game to help establish some order in the game and give players something to work from.

We recommend that you read Lore Portal and relevant SOPs for your faction, especially if you wish to play essential roles heavy on lore.

Rules Explained

Rule Explanation
Rule 1 - No Children The server has a minimum age requirement of sixteen. Any users suspected of being below the age of sixteen will be banned until they are of age.
Rule 2 - Avoiding Ahelp Avoiding, Disconnecting from, or Ignoring any 'Ahelp' (Or Admin Help) messages will result in an appeal-only ban.
Rule 3 - Be Excellent to Each Other Don't intentionally go out of your way to be a jerk. Be civil, and understand that every character has a person behind the screen. So watch what you say, and consider how it affects others. Show other players, contributors and admins the same amount of respect you want to be treated with.
Rule 4 - Make it Fun for Everyone This is a multiplayer game. Consider what you do and how that impacts everyone else's gameplay experience, Don't go out of your way to destroy loot, break things and otherwise make the game worse for everybody without good reason.
Rule 5 - Everyone's Involved You may not under any circumstances discriminate against a person or their character based on protected characteristics, which includes age, disability, gender (Assigned at birth or otherwise), status of marriage or lack thereof, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion or lack thereof and sexual or romantic orientation. This does not include discrimination of fictional creatures such as mutants, Ghouls or other species, which is permitted in-character.
Rule 6 - If You're Unsure, Ask If you are unsure of a rule, and want to check if something you are about to do is alright, always ask an admin first to play it safe. You are welcome to use the Admin Help button (F1) if you want to keep it discreet.
Rule 7 - Erotic Roleplay This server does not tolerate Erotic Roleplay (ERP) of any variety.
Rule 8 - Metagrudging Metagrudging, which is the act of treating a person differently based on how they act in a different life or round is not allowed.
Rule 9 - Meta Communication Meta Communication, or metacomming, which is the act of communicating in-character info relating to an ongoing round through external means (OOC Chat, another messaging application, voice calls) is forbidden.
Rule 10 - Language Barriers This server's main language is English. As such, English should be the language spoken by characters in and out of character, for the sake of understanding and administration.
Rule 11 - The Canon This game takes place in the world of Fallout in the year 2275 in and around Washington state, and that should be considered when making a character;
  • Follow the established timeline. Do not include events from Fallout 3, New Vegas 4, or the TV show, as those stories have yet to happen. Understand that many events happened far in the past, and your character's age should reflect this (Do not make a 20 year old survivor of Navarro, for example)
  • If your character is not from the immediate area, there should be an explanation as to why.
  • Do not 'remake' an established character from an existing piece of Fallout media. The character you play should be original.
Rule 12 - Player vs Character Understand the line between in and out of character. Keep rules 3 and 4 in mind when playing.
Rule 13 - Realistic Animals When playing an animal, you should act as an animal would. Understand how smart that animal is in the real world and the Fallout canon, and act that way. Animals should not engage in tactics such as dodging bullets. Animals may be 'tamed' by other players, but it should be roleplayed out, and difficulty should correspond to how dangerous that animal would be. (Deathclaws are harder to tame that dogs and roaches)
Rule 14 - No-Fun Rules Some rules are in place to encourage fun
  • No Loot Hoarding. Don't take every item on the map for the sake of having it, because then nobody else gets to have stuff. Sharing is caring, after all.
  • Confrontation does not need to end in violence. Let the other party get away, and make further roleplay from the engagement.
  • Follow reasonable escalation. Do not open fire on people without provocation, and try and get them medical attention if they go down. (Ex. Player A attempts to rob Player B. B refuses. A gives them the choice of their money or their life. B once again refuses. A then fires on B, before dragging them outside of a town in order to get them helped)
  • Do not engage in faction warfare without admin permission or good reason. Attacking somebody else's base without reason isn't fun, and usually leads to the round fizzling out afterwards.
